Hello Columbia River Chapter Members,
What a summer we have had so far. Several Members made the trip east to the National Convention in Middletown, Ohio. The convention was, as always, a great time, despite some intimidating weather.
Summer is winding down as I write this, but we have still more exciting meetings planed for 2010.
On Saturday, August 28th, we will meet in Madras, Oregon. This will give us a chance to enjoy each others company, and watch a fun air show, and for those of you in the mood, a chance to display your Short Wing Pipers for the other air show attendees to enjoy.
Our short meeting will be held in the FBO hanger at 12:00 noon, courtesy of our friends in Madras. After that you are free to wander.....enjoy the show, visit town or depart and partake of the beautiful scenery near Madras.
We will meet again on September 25th, for the Great Prosser Balloon Festival in Prosser, Washington. We will meet briefly at 12:00 noon at "The Barn" for lunch and stories, then adjourn to mingle and watch the hot air balloons. Some of us, Sally and I included, will be staying overnight to see the "Night Glow, " and the dawn launches the nest morning. You are all welcome to join us. this is always a great show.
The last meeting we have currently planned for 2010 will be in Albany, Oregon at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 16th. This location was strategically chosen to be handy for driving, as by October we may be seeing the first of our winter weather. We will meet for a relaxing lunch at the restaurant at the south end of the Albany Airport. There is plenty of aircraft parking available, so fly in if you can.
