Presidents Message
Welcome to the web site of the Columbia River Chapter, Short Wing Piper Club.
The Columbia River Chapter welcomes all aviation enthusiasts, regardless of the type of aircraft they fly.
Our chapter is comprised primarily of those from Washington and Oregon, though we have members from British Columbia, Idaho, and California. Our membership is currently at 48 families or individual members.
We exist for flying, fellowship, food, and fun. We also have in our chapter experts on rebuilding, maintaining and flying the Short Wing Piper breed, from the earliest PA-15 Vagabond to the latest PA-22 Colt. Our mechanic members also have expertise in the later metal Piper airplanes. You don't need to own or fly a Piper to join us. Even Sally and I are allowed to arrive at gatherings in our Cessna (though our aircraft is often hidden in the weeds during the meetings.)
If you are new to our chapter, or even if you don't belong, but are contemplating joining, please come and join us. You will find a great group of people who share our interest in the old fabric Pipers, flying, and fun.
Thank you for visiting our web site. We look forward to seeing you at a future meetings. Please contact me or one of our chapter officers if you would like more information.
Dave Luse, President, Columbia River Chapter, Short Wing Piper Club
